Bear is a very paranoid kitty. She spent the first eight
months of her life locked behind bars of the local pet store being
tormented by little kids banging on the glass of her cage. I put my
hand up the glass and she walked over and tried to nuzzle up against
it, but failed due to the glass. She sat there looking at me through
the glass with the biggest eyes and saddest look.
I asked to see her and when they brought her out, she grabbed ahold
of me and wouldn't let go. All her life all she'd known was that cage
and now she had someone holding her close and it as new and scary. So
I brought her home, she was too cute and so sad looking, she needed a
home. For about the first month of her living with me, I couldn't get
near her, every time I got within about three feet she'd run away.
Slowly she came to realize what "home" meant and that she
was happy and content here. Now she comes up on the bed while I'm
working on homework and snuggles all over my papers and me. She's
very loving to me, no one else can get close to her though. But she's
my Pookie Bear and the best hugging kitty I've ever met.
