This
is Cozzie-Mae. She has been my constant companion for four years.
Her name is unique. She is named for the "Cosmo-Girl" model
in Cosmopolitan Magazine because she thinks she is a model. She
models for us all of the time. Originally her name was Cosmo, then
Cozzie, then we added the Mae because we are from the South and
Southerns like double names - the Mae is also for her Aunt
Charlotte-Mae from Virginia. Her breed? Well, instead of a Pedigreed
Cat, she is a Undergreed. O.K. by us because we think she is the most
beautiful cat we have every had. We live in Orlando, Florida and she
shares our home with her ornery brother, Norman.
When Mom tells me to model, I put my paws to my face, roll over on my
back, stretch my arms and legs and strike several poses. I am the
"Christy Brinkley" of cats and a true "southern
belle," thus the "Mae," you know we southern gals have
double names. When someone calls me I "hum" as if to say
"what?" "Meow" is for an emergency, like a trip
to the Veterinarian. My favorite place to sleep in on top of Mom's
head at night. My favorite toy is my brother's weasel. I get great
satisfaction stealing it during one of his "two dozen" naps
a day.
Cozzie-Mae is a very sweet and feminine cat, and is my constant
companion. I think what attracted me to her was the beautiful
"beauty mark" on her face!
