Beauregard
is special in so many ways. First, he attended law school
with me. Beau enjoyed many weekends and week nights pouring over my
law books. He particularly enjoyed sprawling out across the pages
while I was attempting to study. I am certain that I would not have
made it through the Bar Exam without Beau. We listened to study
audiotapes together for hours and watched videotapes of
Constitutional and Criminal law for days. I owe my degree, in part,
to Beauregard.
Second, Beau is a winner of hearts. Upon hearing that I was thinking
of getting a pet companion, my parents announced that they would
never visit me again if I got a cat. To the contrary, Marilyn and
Dick now ask when they can Beau-sit again. He is a love. Third, while
my sister and brother in law refuse to admit their love for him, I
know that they both secretly adore Beauregard. Fourth, Beauregard
has an internal alarm clock and wakes me up for work; the only flaw
is that he doesn't seem to understand Saturdays and Sundays.
Finally, the most important quality about Beauregard is his
sensitivity and perception. When I am feeling blue, Beau seems to
know it, and strokes his little paws on my head while I'm laying on
my pillows.
