Heaven, the Cat of the Day
Name: Heaven
Age: Eight months old
Gender: Male
Breed: Tabby
Home: Wilmington, Delaware, USA

This is Heaven. He is now about eight months old. This is him at approximately nine weeks old. He is a precious tabby, and resides in Wilmington, Delaware. He is named Heaven for a very special reason! Before I found this little cutie, I had found one of his sibling's across the street from my office. I heard this desperate little "mew," and ran over to rescue it. I didn't know what to do because the poor thing looked so awful - ulcers, eyes swollen shut, flea infested! So I rushed over to my vet, telling the poor little ball the whole way that everything would be okay, I was going to take care of it. When I got to the vet, she took one look at the dehydrated thing and said "this one's too far gone, I'm sorry." I bawled my eyes out, not even knowing the little tuft of fur for more than an hour.

When I got back to work and composed myself somewhat, no more than an hour later did I find this little guy! I said to myself, "Amy, you just had to go through this with the other one, so don't even talk to it, or you'll just get depressed all over again." But, I took it to the vet to have him properly taken care of. To my delightful surprise, the vet said this one had a chance of living. Although dehydrated, ulcered, and swollen-eyed, this little orphan had a chance. She said he would need 24/7 TLC, and had to be fed through a syringe. I didn't care, I was just so happy he would have a fighting chance!!

I took the little scared thing to work with me for two weeks so I could medicate him all day and feed him his milk. He was approximately four to five weeks old. Day by day, the little guy got better, and you should see him now! I decided to name him Heaven because he was a little gift from up above! I was going to try to find a home for him, as I already had three cats of my own, but I got so attached to the little sucker, I just couldn't do it! He is the most precious little playful joy to have around now! His purr is louder than my motorboat, and he is as sweet as can be! Thank Heaven for Heaven! Funny thing is, I think he knows how lucky he is to be alive!
