This
is Elvis, formerly known as Taz. The cat was renamed as part of
the deal to allow him to move in with my girlfriend at the time (now
wife). Don't know what type of cat he is and we're guessing he is
seven years old. This photo is a favorite because this is when
Ripken
(the bird) and Elvis first met. They get along great. All Elvis does
is sleep.
The cat learned on his own that the bird was not to be bothered. One
day Ripken climbed down from his perch and bit Elvis on the tail. We
have never had a problem since then as Elvis stays away from Ripken.
Elvis is the calmest cat ever. Nothing disturbs him. Jackie can be
face to face with Elvis barking in his face and Elvis will just sit
there. Of course
Jackie,
our dog, just wants to play and finally Elvis will oblige by chasing
Jackie around the room. Talk about role reversal... the bird chases
the cat... the cat chases the dog!
