This
is Minnie, an American shorthair. She's now eight months old,
but was only about six weeks old when this picture was taken. Minnie
is special because she turned me into a cat lover overnight when she
came into our house for a visit. She had been part of a stray litter
that took up residence in our yard. One look at this little face and
I was hooked. We've since adopted her sister, Daisy. Minnie and Daisy
live in Connecticut.
Minnie's really my little baby. And her sister Daisy is too. I'm
nominating her next. Minnie was outside around our yard for about six
weeks before we tried bringing up to our apartment. She was nervous
at first, but the picture of her and the milk bowl was probably taken
within her first half-hour with us. That first night, I brought her
to bed with me, and she stayed there all night, cuddled up next to
me. No accidents either. The next day we showed her where the litter
box was, and she took to using it right away, although we had to
build a little stairway of books so she could get into it she was so
tiny. She slept every night with me, insisting on cuddling right up
next to me. I miss those nights now, as she's become somewhat aloof
in her "old age." She and Daisy will be a year old in
August. But thanks to my digital camera, I was able to capture those
precious Little Kitty moments.
Minnie doesn't do any tricks, but plays non-stop with Daisy. I can't
imagine not having adopted Daisy too. The two are inseparable. And
their older brother or half-brother Eddie hangs with them. If you'd
