Pixel
found us at a Seattle cat show. He was a Tacoma street punk and
was picked up behind a fish market and luckily placed in a "no
kill" organization. When I looked over and saw my husband with a
cat in his lap and a puff-paw touching his cheek I knew the search
was over. We adopted "Rocky" on the spot. When he arrived
at our home I tried to decide what to actually call him. Most of our
family members have chosen their own names.
He was about to demonstrate his preference. He disappeared!!! Frantic
searching all through the house.. under cushions.. in closets... in
drawers.. and no cats.. I roamed the neighborhood looking for him...
I was beside myself thinking that I had lost this kitlet! Around 8 PM
he popped his head up over the bedside while I was reading, and thus
his name. He is named after the famous Pixel in Robert Heinlein's
books one of which is "The Cat Who Walks Through Walls".
He still slips into interdimensional space at will and he has given
much love and happiness to our family. He loves to ride on
"daddy's" shoulders and definitely loves to help
"mommy" in whatever it is she seems to be doing... cooking,
reading, sleeping... not paying attention!!! :) A very vocal person
is he and we are part of his cat family.
