Poco
was adopted from the Humane Society when he was four to five
weeks of age. He is a Maine Coon Tabby. Now two years old, he is very
large (about eighteen pounds) and as playful as ever. I got Poco for
my tenth birthday. I named him Poco-Regis, which means Little-King.
He was very small at the time and we all treated him like royalty. My
father wanted a dog, my mom wanted a cat and I wanted one of each. We
settled for a cat only, but what we got was a cat that thinks and
acts like a dog. So everyone got what they wanted.
We put my baby blankie in Poco's bed the day he came home and to this
day he still uses it. He loves his treats and knows just how to get
us to get them for him. He'll do little tricks or purr at our feet.
If we say "Poco want a treat" he comes running. He plays
bat the ball, mousie, hair-band etc. from the balcony above our
kitchen whenever he wants our attention. He also loves to run after
me, jumping at my legs and pulling me down like a lion takes down a
gazelle. His white paws, wonderful stripes and markings make him a
very beautiful cat. His coat is shiny and soft with a big fluffy
tail. He was the best birthday gift I've ever received.
