Kalifornia
is a platinum Burmese. He flew to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
all the way from the state of California last October. We called him
Kalifornia for lack of a better name, not realizing that it would
stick. Now he responds to Kali as well as a variety of other much
sillier nicknames. We never did find out what his original name was,
if he had one. Kali is famous for his "Burmese reproachful
look" as seen in his photo. He knows he's very handsome and will
often strike a pose for the camera.
He loves sitting in the window and going out to play in the back yard
on his leash. He loves playing with all kinds of toys and like all
Burmese cats, requires a lot of attention, both from people and other
cats (he won't leave his best-friend
Phive
alone (Cat of the Day, Jan. 13, 1998)). We're not too sure of Kali's
past, only that he spent much of it in a cage, and wasn't handled
very often, but his personality has changed a lot since he arrived.
Under Phive's careful tutelage and almost constant human contact, he
has become a much more secure and loving cat.
