About Us
Nub, the Cat of the Day
Name: Nub
Age: Seven years old
Gender: Female
Breed: Cat
Home: Sierra Madre, California, USA

This is an extreme close up of "Nub." Why the name Nub? Well, she's just a nub of a cat. Her legs and tail are just a tad too short, making her look a bit portly for a six-pound cat. She has a great belly. My boyfriend and I rescued Nub from the pound. Her home had been destroyed during the 1994 Northridge earthquake and her previous owner was forced to give her up. She had been dropped off at the pound only an hour before we got there and adopted her.

Nub is very clutzy for a cat. Grace is not her middle name. But she does make an excellent alarm clock. She is always on the bed meowing after the alarm goes off to make sure I get out of bed. Of course she only does this to make sure I get up and turn on the bathroom water faucet for her. This is all part of her odd bathroom fetish. No one is allowed in the bathroom without her. She is fascinated with what goes on in there. And although it's a strange habit, it is nice to have company while getting ready for work. Nub also amuses us with her fetching ability. Unfortunately, we doubt she knows what she's doing. And we love the odd meow she gives when she's got a toy mouse in her mouth. She's pouncing on a toy mouse in the smaller photo. Our Nub is a just a big ball of fur who knows exactly when a person needs a kitty in their lap, and we love her for it.
