This
is my cat Saima (pronounced "SY-mah"). Her last
name is McGee. I adopted her from the Chicago Anti-Cruelty
Society in April, 1999. Back then she looked like a Skinny
Mulligan (as you can see in the photo that shows me holding her on
her adoption day), but now she looks much healthier and happier. When
I first held her in my lap, she overflowed with affection and
cuddliness. What a sweetie! She's still very cuddly and enjoys
getting her head and neck "scritched." Saima loves to
play. She'll pick up her favorite toy, "Wormy," then she'll
bring it over to me and drop it at my feet with a "meow?"
All other cat toys take second place to Wormy, especially when it's
been rolled in dried catnip.
Here is a brief list of what makes Saima so special and wonderful:
her ability to catch Wormy in mid-air with her front paws; she
can let out a meeeeooooww for seven seconds straight without taking a
breath; she loves dried squid kitty treats; when the sun shines on
her coat, her light-brown fur looks almost peach-colored; she
sleeps close to me at night...I thought for sure that the first pet
I would get for myself as an adult would be a dog, but I'm so glad I
adopted Saima McGee the Cat.
