About
four months ago my husband and I were looking for houses in the
back woods of Geneva, Florida. We found a place that we were
interested in and went to check it out. As we were looking around we
heard a kitten crying and looked all over for it. He showed up and
began his plea to come home with us. We already had a nine-year-old
80-pound black lab (Woody) and a four year Maine Coon cat (Bob) and
didn't need another cat so we left. We went back to check out the
house further with the real estate person and the kitten showed up
again. She told us the story of the cat - a college person had rented
out the room of this house and was forced to leave when the house was
put on the market. The college person had a kitten and couldn't bring
it with her so she left it. I was horrified by this and picked up the
kitten (about six months old at the time) and he was skin and bones.
That was it - we were bringing him home. So to make a long story
short - we didn't get a house, we got a new addition to our family.
He got the name Scooby and is now fixed and all fattened up. We
believe he is a gift from God because he loves us so much. He sleeps
in our arms at night and loves our other pets and they love him. He
is frisky and keeps Bob on his toes. He is very funny and loves to
keep us laughing. I thank God everyday for that "house for
sale" sign in Geneva, Florida.
