My
name is Nick. I'm a domestic shorthair, and I'm about two years old.
I acquired this name because I showed up on my people's doorstep on
Christmas Eve. I just knew it would be a good home for me, so I went up
to who was to become my mommy person and she fell in love with me. She
brought me into her house, to warm up, where I met my future daddy
person and the other animals that were to become my siblings. My people
went on a trip for the Millennium, and they were gone for a week, but
they left their garage door cracked open for me, made a little nest out
of blankets, and made sure that my uncle person fed me while they were
gone. When they came back, I jumped right into their van to let them
know that they were mine, and that I had decided to keep them. They took
me to the vet and had me neutered (ouch), and I got all my shots and was
wormed. The vet told them I was about two years old. A few days later they
had to declaw me. They hated to do it, but I kept scratching their 20
month old little girl. I didn't mean it, I was only playing, but I
understand! I have healed wonderfully from the surgery and am so glad to
have such a wonderful home.
I have lots of room and all the food I can eat, as well as a warm place
to sleep and people who like to play with me. They let me go outside
when I want, but I don't like to very much. My people seem to think that
my previous owners "dumped" me somewhere near here because I
made myself at home easily (as you can see from the picture), and
because the vacuum cleaner doesn't bother me one bit! There are many
animals "dumped" across the country every day. I wish that
people would investigate the needs of a pet before getting one. Maybe
then they wouldn't buy that cute little kitten in the window only to
realize that it's grown into a cat that isn't as "cute." My
people think that I'm the cutest big kitty ever... along with their
other two kitties, but I don't mind sharing that honor! And, I don't
mind sharing my people with the dog either. She bugs me, but I let her
stay!
