Little
Guy just showed up one day when he was about three months old. I came
home from work and saw what "appeared" to be a cat underneath a bush
in the front of my house. When I opened the garage door it scared him and he
ran away. The following day he was there again... waiting and watching. Again
I opened the garage door and again he ran away. This went on for about two
weeks, with him waiting for me when I came home from work. Of course I was
leaving food and water out for him during this time! I finally decided to
leave the garage door open, and when I went out about an hour later, he was
wandering inside my garage. I finally coaxed him over to me, and when he
finally let me touch him and hold him, he started licking my face and purring
up a storm! I took him to my veterinarian (whom I worked for part time), and
had him checked out, vaccinated, and bathed (he was loaded with fleas). He was
extremely healthy (thanks to me feeding him every day!), and he came home to
live with my other eleven cats and me. I have always been a "cat
fancier", and currently show him as a Household Pet in cat shows
sponsored by the American Cat Fancier's
Association (ACFA). During the 1999 show season; he was 7th Best Household
Pet in the Northcentral Region of the United States, and 13th Best
Inter-American Household Pet! I love him dearly, as I do all of my other cats
(Patches, Punkin, Otto, Yoda, Cleo, Phantom, Elmer, Skeeter, Fat Boy, PeeWee
Hairman, and Elvis Purrs-ley). I still have my very first cat, Patches, who
just turned eighteen years old!
