Tameka
is a ten-year-old Silver Shaded Chinchilla Persian and quite a haughty
little cat. Her coat is absolutely gorgeous and as she walks it sort of hugs
the floor. Her coat hides her tiny little body. She weighs six pounds and is
very short but a beautiful little body (which she knows as she has this
special little strut). Tameka (who we called Meka) really knows she is a
beautiful cat and always seems to have this way of putting herself where she
can be seen with a background that only compliments her beauty. We have
another kitty, Chubacka, who is a big Himalayan (who weighs in at sixteen
pounds) and a little Yorkie (weighing in at five pounds) and Meka is truly the
Queen of the House and gets all the respect from our other two animals. Our
little Yorkie loves to chase and terrorize Chubacka, but "everyone"
stays clear of Meka as she has let them all know who has rank and who deserves
all the respect. Meka loves to go outside on our deck to bask in the sun and
loves nothing more than to catch her a daily tidbit from outside, which is
always a little lizard. She is quite the hunter in stalking a lizard and she
amazes us all with her quickness and speed in catching her prey. When she
catches her prey, they then become her snacks...yuk! These are quite a
delicacy for her. She loves to hear one song that I have sung to her since she
was just a little kitty and every time she hears the tune, she starts to
"make butter" with her little paws kneading up and down... Everyone
gets a big kick out of this little tune because each time I sing it to her,
she quite promptly starts making butter and doesn't stop until I stop
singing... She is the sweetest kitty and is pretty much a Mommie's girl... We
live in the country just 30 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina, and she
loves our new home where she can go out on the deck, get her a little sunshine
and catch a little snack, take a little nap, and that suits her days just
fine... she hates the days where she has to stay inside because of rain and
usually lets me know with her crazy meow. Meka has never been able to meow
like a normal cat and it sort of sounds like she is tongue-tied, sort of
sounds like "mer-ow"..and when you hear it, you can do nothing but
laugh... She has brought many years of joy not only with her beauty but with
her sweet and haughty ways...
