Maurice
is the name of my pet. I bought him from a vet clinic as a gift
for my girlfriend, they told me that he was three years old, not
declawed, but fixed. We have had him for about six months, in that time
she had given him a lot of attention, almost to the point of bothering
him, I believe. She had decided to move out, when she did she had
luckily left Maurice with me. Now eight months later, Maurice and I have
had plenty of time to ourselves. About two months ago, I was involved in
an auto accident, being hospitalized for awhile. I had my ex come to
take care of him for awhile. Ever since then, Maurice has been a lot
closer to me. He now joins me on the couch as I watch TV. Lately he has
been jumping up in bed with me, before I go to sleep and falling asleep
next to me. During the day he sometimes jumps in bed with me, I pet and
scratch him, he must like it as little droplets of water form around his
mouth, drooling in awe and loving it so much. Whenever I come home from
work or anywhere he meets me at the door, as I go to pet him I touch him
the cutest purr like meow comes out of him. This is why I feel Maurice
should be the Cat of the Day. He is so special to me.
