Leo
is very special to us. Sometimes we call him "dumpster
kitty" just for fun, because that's where he came from. A friend of
mine called me and said she'd seen an orange talking kitty at the
dumpsters and wondered if I'd want him. Sight unseen, I said yes. So she
kindly drove back to the dumpster and lured him into her car. I guess it
wasn't very difficult because she brought food along and he was very
hungry.
He "talks" a lot!!! But only to his daddy and I, because he is
very shy and usually lays low when company is around. (He is a very
sensitive boy.) You know how they say, "if you love something set
it free?" Well, that accidentally happened when we'd only had him
for a week. We'd had the windows open that day, and he must have been
sitting in the window in our spare room and knocked out the screen. When
we were getting ready for bed, we went through and closed all the
windows, not realizing that he had gone outside. I was going around the
house straightening up when I realized that I saw our other cat, Kate,
but not Leo....anywhere! I had grown quite attached to him those few
days and I began to panic. I got my husband out of bed and he discovered
what had happened when he heard Leo slamming into the glass of the
window trying to get back in! We went outside only to find that by then
our dog had chased him into the woods! So once we got the dog put away,
we could hear our little boy crying miserably in the woods. My husband
called him, and he came back quite willingly. So I guess he's ours!
Which we are very happy about, and from the picture you can tell that
Kate is too!
