Mike
is now about ten years old. He was abandoned at
a vet's office in suburban Chicago, and the vet kept him for as long as
he could, then gave him to a cat lady to take care of. I adopted Mike
and his brother, Max, from her in 1993. They have made my world a better
place to live. Mike is some kind of a mutt, but he has a lot of Maine
Coon characteristics: tufts of hair between his toes and at the ends of
his ears, and he follows me from room to room, sitting by my side until
I move to the next spot. Also, he tolerates water really well, even
sitting in the tub while I take a shower. He will wade in water up to
his belly, as long as it's warm and no water is splashing in his face. I
even have pictures to prove it! Anyway, Mike recently relocated with me,
Max, and my partner to Seattle, Washington.
