High-C
is a cat with a special home and a special job. Her age? A lady
never tells (in other words we're not sure - about seven?). She lives in
the carriage barn at Hildene, the historic home of Abraham Lincoln's
descendants in Manchester, VT. High-C meets and greets the thousands
of visitors who arrive to tour Hildene each season. Her time off is
often spent sunning, bird & chipmunk watching and napping in one of
the many baskets placed around the office for her comfort. She has a
staff of seven who see to her every need. High-C is a gourmet and is
very vocal in her demand for treats. Her meow is quite distinctive in
pitch, hence her name High-C. Hildene is a cross-country ski area in
winter and, in her honor, High-C has had an expert-level ski trail
named in her honor.
