Dennis
Bubba Hyphen Potter is an extraordinary cat by anyone's point of
view... even people who don't like cats are crazy about him! He use to
be Dennis the Menace, until we moved here and he started meowing with a
"twang". Aside from his incredibly laid-back, loving and friendly
disposition, Dennis Bubba saved my life!
When I first got seriously ill on top of MS, I insisted on being home
with Dennis Bubba under "home-health-care". I could barely walk, had
IV's running in my veins and was also hooked up to a feeding tube. I
finally yielded to deep despair and decided to terminate my life. I
filled a syringe with toxic stuff, got comfortable in my recliner and
placed the loaded syringe into the IV Tubing. Ol' Dennis Bubba, was on
the rocking chair across the room, meditating as he spends most of his
life doing. Just as I was ready to push the plunger with the deadly
contents in the syringe into my IV... Dennis Bubba suddenly jumped off
the rocker, jumped up into my lap...looked at me with those beautiful
big blue eyes, as if to say; "please don't do this thing"... I
immediately pulled the syringe out of the tubing, begin to cry and knew
that God had sent me a guardian angel wrapped in fur! I have been fine
emotionally ever since and have rebounded time and time again from the
physical challenges I am faced with.
I don't know what I'd do with out my faithful beloved cat, Dennis
Bubba... he has even virtually licked tears streaming down my face when
I've been in pain. He's a remarkable ol' fellow. Needless to say, I sure
love him! He's almost eleven years old now, Himalayan chocolate-point
bundle of love wrapped in a whole lotta fur. He was a gift from my
friend in San Diego who bred the breed and she claimed she couldn't keep
two males in her house... so DB kinda snookered up to me and I was
hooked. He is a more-than-neutered male, he lost his penis to a serious
urinary tract infection. He took that surgery pretty well, considering
he didn't know if he was a boy, a girl or a what... so he pees like a
girl cat. And of course, he's an indoor boy and will walk like a dog
outside on a harness and leash. (He does try to convince everyone else
that he's an outdoor guy, but he's not.) He's truly a joy!
