Pongo
is now about one and a half years old and
I've had him since he was six months old. I picked him up at the animal
shelter. Why? Because I had reached quite a sad and lonely period in my
life and needed some company. And an animal which you can love
unconditionally and which loves you back the same way seemed ideal to
me. Pongo lives in my apartment and he is in general quite a happy
little cat. When I get home, he shows his excitement by making
sommersaults and purring a lot. Of course this might not only be due to
the fact that I'm merely coming home, but just because he is hungry.
Against all cat rules, Pongo likes water. He is an intelligent cat who
even knows how to switch the light on and off. But Pongo also has a mind
of his own and when he thinks that I'm lazy and sleeping too long, he
bites me in my toes and knees so that I wake up and pay attention to
him. Pongo has a cat's usual five minutes when he runs around like a
wild cat, but he can be very sweet and cuddly as well.
