This
is Emme, she is six years old and is from Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
I adopted her about five years ago from our local Humane shelter. When I
went in to the shelter, there she was, I walked right over to her and
pulled her out of her cage, as I was holding her a worker came over to
me and said that this cat only had three hours to live. I thought something
was wrong with the cat, so I asked why she only had three hours. The
worker replied that the cat had been there for to many hours and they
needed the space - in other words they were getting ready to end her
life. At that time I was a single mother in college and working a full
time job, plus I only had $60.00 dollars to last me til the end of the
week. The adoption fee was $56.00. I just couldn't let this cat's life
end,so I adopted her. Let me say that I thank God often for that
adoption!
Emme has been one of my best friends now for six years. My daughter
loves her too! One of the best things about Emme is that any time my
daughter gets sick, Emme will stay right by her side and when I have had
a hard day or am feeling a little blue, this wonderful cat will come and
sit with me. She also has a nighttime habit that I adore about her.
Every night she will sleep with my daughter until she falls asleep, then
she will come in my room and finish out the night sleeping right on my
shoulder,touching my face with her paw and no matter which way I roll
over, Emme will roll over too! She has given us so much love and
comfort. I hope that anyone who reads this will understand that there
are wonderful pets at all Humane shelters, please adopt and save a
friends life!
