Machu
came to us as a stray kitten that was born in the park beside our
workplace. She was captured along with her mother and two sisters (one
of whom we also adopted) by a kind co-worker, who then gave them to us.
Machu was named after the ancient Incan site of Machu Picchu in Peru.
She is a very shy kitty, but she does like her owners! She is a very
independent, active cat who frequently outsmarts her fatter, lazier
sister (Pichu).
Her favourite hobbies include watching birds through the window, running
around the back yard in the summer, hunting insects, playing with her
toys, and waiting to be fed every night! Machu can be seen in this
picture napping on our bed (another one of her hobbies!). She took a
while before she would let us pick her up and hold her for a little
while, and she still doesn't like it too much. She has become much more
trusting than she was when she first came to us. She is a very pretty
kitty (in our opinion!) with incredibly soft fur. We love Machu very
much and hope that she loves us just as much!
