Mikey
is named after the Orioles All-Star Ace pitcher Mike Mussina! He's
very jealous of my computer and insists on sitting where I can see him
whenever I'm working. Sometimes he insists on sitting on the keyboard!
Mikey is a blue lynx point Colorpoint Shorthair, which is a breed in CFA
that is closely related to the Siamese. In CFA, the Siamese come in only
four colors - seal, blue, chocolate, and lilac. Other colors - like red,
cream, tortie, and the lynx points - are shown in the Colorpoint
Shorthair breed. Mikey's piercing blue eyes are a trait common to all
pointed cats. He has stripes on his tail and legs, and thumbprints on
his ear. He also has some pink on his nose leather! He has white lines
all around his eyes, a white chin and cheeks, and two little brown
freckles on each side of his nose. The lynx points are very special, and
they know it. They're sweet, active, intelligent cats, who demand
attention and show much affection. Some will even play fetch, including
Mikey! But Mikey's favorite game is "Bowling for Kittens". He likes to
run and pounce on unsuspecting young kittens as though they are his
personal toys.
