Marsha, the Cat of the Day
Name: Marsha
Age: Six years old
Gender: Female
Kind: American Medium Hair
Home: Los Angeles, California, USA

Marsha was found by a foreman in the oil company where I work, crouching inside a concrete pipe that was about to be installed that day! She must have been only a couple of months old then. A coworker took Marsha to my office (everybody at work knows I'm the Cat Lady - at the time I had five cats!) and ask if I'd take her in. Reluctantly I said yes, thinking that maybe I could foster the cat for a few weeks until I found a permanent home for her. She was just the little well-behaved lady while I kept her in the office - she was content to simply lay on my desk calendar while I worked. Later that afternoon, as I was driving home on the freeway, Marsha got up from the passenger seat where I placed her and walked over to my lap, reached for my shoulders, and tried to lick my face - while I was driving, mind you! I wish I had somebody with me taking a picture of the moment! Then and there I decided that Marsha will be staying home with me for good. In the beginning it looked as though her ears were too big for her face, but in time she grew into them. I'm suspecting that she may have a bit of Maine Coon in her too, because of her fur.

One of her funny habits is jumping on counter next to the bathroom sink when the tap is on, and attempting to "grab" the flowing water that to Marsha probably looks like a piece of transparent rope. It's funny to see her do this for a while before she realizes that it's actually water and all she's doing is getting her hand wet! At night when she's ready for bed, she would lie right next to me and lay her little head on my outstretched right arm. She's a cutie and I really adore her. On the day this picture was taken, I thought I'd have fun with Marsha and wrap a kerchief around her head for that "little Russian peasant look"! As usual, she was the little well-behaved lady, patiently sitting on the bed as her wacky humans shoot her portrait!
