Milton
is our first Ragdoll. He has been special since the day we
brought him home. He's always been "perfect" -- always being
such an angel and knowing "no" means "no".
Milton's favorite place to sleep is our hand painted fruit bowl which
we bought, obviously, to hold fruit. When Milton was old enough and
big enough to be able to climb on top of our dining room table, he has
made the fruit bowl his own. From that day forward, that fruit bowl
has never held fruit -- but instead, has become Milton's favorite
place to hang out or sleep.
Milton is such a sweet boy, he is very independent but will come when
I call him and will follow me around the house. Besides sleeping in a
fruit bowl, he loves his furry micey men and will not eat his food
unless one or two of the furry micey men are in his food bowl. He will
totally chew on the toy until the insides are coming out, at which
point, I throw it away and give him a few more. I always have to take
out the eyes and the nose and cut off the tails because Milton chews
it to death and I don't want him swallowing anything that could hurt
him. He carries his micey men around with him and they have to be
furry, he doesn't like fabric ones.
Milton greets me at the door every night when I come home from work
and loves to be groomed. We have a routine - every day I wash his
face, brush his teeth and brush him with the Zoom Groom and then comb
him. He sits very still on the counter while I do this. We have been
doing this since the first day he came home with us and we never miss
a day. Milton likes to stalk me, he will crouch down and his eyes turn
black and he will very slowly start making his way over to me. I tell
him he's "stalking me in plain sight." He also plays
"hide 'n seek" at night before bedtime. I will turn off the
lights and call out - "Where's Milton" and pretend I don't
know where he is. Then, when my back is turned, he will leap out and
hit the back of my leg. Milton now has a companion -- we call him
Milton's little brother. He is over five months old now and he is a
blue mitted Ragdoll named Buster and Buster just loves his big
brother. Milton will grab Buster in a headlock and groom him. They
chase each other around the house and Buster sleeps in a basket (lined
with a towel) next to Milton's fruit bowl -- both on my dining room
table. Buster knows not to sleep in Milton's bowl!
