This
is Heathcliff, she was eighteen years old when she died of cancer
a few months ago. Like her Mom and Dad, she was a military brat and
lived in many different locations; but for the last six years we have
lived in Villas, NJ, USA.
We got Heathcliff at a pet shop in Rapid City, South Dakota in May
1982 to be a companion to our two-year old part Siamese, Shadow. She was
extremely friendly from the beginning, and loved to cuddle up with any
of us - including Shadow. She was definitely our cuddle kitty, and
loved being held and petted. She'd crawl into my lap when I sat down
to watch TV or read a book, and go to sleep there - except she'd wake
up and hit me whenever I stopped petting her! She woke us up in the
morning by licking our foreheads or chins. Her loss has definitely
left a small, cat-shaped hole in our hearts that's going to take a
while to heal.
