Hi
there, my name is Malarkey. Mom named me that because I was full of
it. She has many cute names for me such as, Fat Lark, and Larkey
Doodle. There is also the bizarre Larken-du-lac, which makes no sense
as we do not live near a lake! For some reason lately, she has been
calling me a slug with legs. (Mom here. I think the reasons are
obvious. [and for those of you who are concerned, I do not over feed
him, but he does steal from his sister!])
Lark is very friendly and as you can see, fat! He will eat nothing but
dry cat food, and I try to ration it, but still he is two or three times
Muff's size.
I read here of the clever cats who play with their toys and fetch.
Lark will have none of that. He won't even venture out when I am
gardening! Well, when the dogs are out, and his sister is out, he
decides he better put in an appearance. However it is usually a short
one, as getting too far from the bed makes him nervous. As you can
see, he is not the nervous type!
Lark likes to sleep with me, tucked up under my chin, purring so hard
he sometimes gurgles. Muffin, my other cat, won't jump on me if he is
there, consequently, since he knows it bugs her, if Muff is on my lap,
sometimes Lark will jump up to anger her. It always works!
Lark is the sweetest cat I have ever known, and I have known a
few! He cuddles up under my chin, and actually gurgles when he purrs.
He has the softest fur and most gorgeous coat ever. It is probably
just as well that he doesn't go out, as he could be mistaken for a
small racoon!
