Daisy
was at our local animal shelter. All of other kittens around her
were more colorful and were adopted instantly. I immediately felt drawn
to her because of her penetrating eyes and persistence. She was not
happy being caged and was the loudest kitty at the shelter. When I saw
her it was the end of the day and it was too late to adopt. The
following morning I was to go away on a planned vacation for a week. I
could not stop thinking about her the whole time. My first day back from
vacation I went back to the shelter with my heart racing in hopes that
she was still there. I ran up the stairs to where she was and peered in.
There she was still with the "up for adoption sign" on her
cage just looking at me... yeah!!!!. I was so happy I think my heart
jumped out of my chest. They let me bring her in the acquaintance room
and she immediately came and slid down on my lap layed down and looked
up at me with those green eyes as to say "where have you been I've
been waiting for you"? She is my dearest little friend following me
from room to room and even when I take a bath she has to come in and sit
on the rug cover toilet seat and lets me tell her all about my day. She
is truly my little gem.
What makes Daisy special is her sweet and gentle
nature. She is lover and first thing she usually does each morning is
she walks up on my chest and gives me a kitty kiss. Some funny things
Daisy does are if I play with the feather cat dancer she can do a 360
degree backflip about 3 feet in the air. We think she might be part
flying squirrel. Sometimes when she is playful and excited she runs
around and makes this strange growling noise that kind of sounds like
the exorcist. It seems like this noise should not come out of such a
sweet little cat. Another thing I love about Daisy is her intelligent,
intense green eyes with her permanent black eye-liner.
