Kind: Domestic Short-Hair Cat
Home: Miami Beach, Florida, USA

When our vet's office called to tell us about a kitten they had for adoption, we were torn; we just lost the world's sweetest cat four months earlier to chronic renal failure. It seems that someone had found this tiny, tabby kitten in a puddle after a hurricane brushed by South Florida. He was a mouthy little guy with a personality about 100 times his size! Estimated to be three weeks old, he could use the litter box and suck up wet cat food like there was no tomorrow. Something had happened to his tail: the end was missing and it was crooked and gnarled. We thought he was cute but we were not quite sure... The vet also had a larger kitten: shiny and black with copper eyes, they estimated him to be six months old. He yowled and reached out from his cage to grab us so we took him out to play. The cat seemed real sweet so we took him home for a test drive. We decided to adopt this one and the vet agreed to keep him till we returned from vacation.

The next day, we called the vet back and said we would take them both! What a blessing these two boys have been! Felix is the sweetest, goofiest, most loveable cat I have ever met! He murmurs and trills at every movement and even chases me through the house, leaping up to grab me. Felix just gazes into my eyes with a look of love! He is quite an accomplished fuzzy ball player and even gets a new fuzzy out of the basket on the bookshelf whenever he loses one! Oscar has grown up to be really sweet, too. He has the most gorgeous tabby markings with little vest buttons on his chest which earned him the nick-name "Teeny-weeny, Itty-bitty, Polka-dotted-belly Kitty". He quickly learned to hold his own with Felix and Gracie. Even Annie, the matriarch of our gang, will hold him down for a face bath. Little Oscar is now a holy terror, eating house plants and stealing things from the bathroom counter but his innocent little face keeps him out of trouble!
