Max
(the creamed colored Cornish in front) is the one whom I want to
honor. Max and Rudi (the grey one behind) were littermates, are almost
ten months old and live in Tennessee. They are decidedly un-catlike,
except for their intelligence. Max opens doors, runs sideways, does
gymnastics and all the usual Cornish things. He also rolls on this back
to greet me, offering his tummy for a scratch. I have been doing quite a
bit of kitchen construction - Max has helped by supporting and holding
up flexible vent pipe and stabilizing other lightweight,
Cornish-liftable objects.
Max was diagnosed three months ago with cardiomyopathy - which caused a
very fast heart rate; he became suddenly listless and almost died over
the course of that first day before starting the medication which now
keeps his heart rate normal. He has an indomitable brave spirit and we
love him very much.
