Henry
was rescued from the local humane society. I went in with the
intentions of getting a small kitten hoping that my other cat,
Founder, would not feel too intimidated. I was staring at a basketful
of babies, trying to decide which one I liked when I felt something
slap my arm. I looked over to see this gangly half grown kitty,
cocking his cute little head at me, his paw still hanging out the bar
of his cage. I popped the lock, he jumped into my arms and we made a
jail break (after paying his bail, of course.) He is a fearless child
and perhaps a little too trusting. The older cat had no choice but to
accept him because Henry kept coming back for more every time she beat
him down. They are now the best of friends (except at the food bowl.)
His hobbies are: pouting to get his way, sharpening his claws on the
dictionary, being cradled like a baby, racing through the house at
Mach 10, chirping at the neighborhood strays through the window,
getting baths from his older feline sister and waking me in the middle
of the night to cuddle. No rug is safe with Henry--he will stop at
nothing to crumple it into a defeated pile and then hide his toys
somewhere in the folds. He brought my older cat back to life and put a
smile in my heart. Life just wouldn't be the same without him.
