This
is Baby. When we were teenagers, my sister and I found her in the
middle of a road outside Wiesbaden, Germany during a rainstorm. Baby
was about two months old and sick and scrawny. We took her home to mom
and she became one of the family cats. (Our mom never turned away a
stray animal.) We nursed Baby back to health but I don't think she
ever got over the fear of starvation since now she's pretty fat.
After our mom died five years ago, Baby and her one-eyed
"Brother" of eleven years, Leon (lost an eye to glaucoma),
came to live with me and my husband. They now share our attention with
our newly adopted stray kitten, Tricky. Baby was given her name
because she loves to be cradled in my arms on her back. She also likes
to lay spoon-fashion with me in bed at night with her head on the
pillow until I fall asleep. She's always happy to be picked up for
some "nuggles" - the ultimate lap cat.
