When
my local rescue charity asked me if I'd consider temporarily
fostering an "older" cat I wasn't very keen on the idea to
start with. Jimmy had been given up by his owners and, due to his age,
had been in the shelter for over six months waiting for that special
someone who had not yet arrived. To cut a long story short, we agreed
to foster Jimmy and from day one he has been an absolute joy! Not a
single argument with my other cats, he loves to lay in font of the
fire in whichever room I'm in and sleep on my pillow at night. His
other great loves are food, cuddles and kittens (he's a perfect father
figure). If anyone out there has any doubts at all about fostering or
adopting older cats then please cast them aside - I can't put into
words just how marvelous the experience is. I have totally fallen for
my old guy and have now officially adopted him. There'll always be a
place for him both by my fire and in my heart.
