About Us
Sara, Seng-ge, the Cats of the Day
Name: Sara, Seng-ge
Age: Two and a half years old
Gender: Female, Male
Kind: Blue Point Ragdolls
Home: Huntsville, Alabama, USA

This is Sara and Seng-ge. They are brother and sister, separated at birth, but found their way back together. My husband and I bought Seng-ge (Tibetan for Snow Lion, which is exactly what he looked like as a baby) shortly after we got married as our first pet together. A friend of mine had started breeding Ragdolls, and this was his first litter. We fell completely in love with Seng-ge and he became our little baby. At the time, Sara was kept to be a breeder in the future. As Seng-ge grew, he became quite a character, harassing our two older cats by biting their butts when they weren't looking (this is really hilarious to see). His favorite game is fetch, and he returns it and drops it for you every time! He is such a lover and wants to kiss all the time. He is the softest cat I have ever had, and feels more like an angora rabbit than a cat.

About a year and half after getting Seng-ge, we found out that Sara, who didn't grow big enough to be a breeder, had been "petted out" to a girl who couldn't get a kitten. Our friends told her that no matter what happened, if it didn't work out, they would give her a refund and they would take Sara back, as she was their favorite. Well two months after she was petted out, the girl returned her saying she "wasn't affectionate enough". Very strange. So we decided to take Sara. Upon getting her it was like our own little "Nature vs. Nurture" experiment. Sara and Seng-ge acted the exact same way in some respects, such as walking the exact same way, the way they would plop on the floor, the same meow, they played the same way. It really made us see that genetics do take a part in animals personalities. But because Sara was raised with her cat momma, so never bonded with humans the same way totally co-dependent Seng-ge did, she was a bit shy when it came to lovin' on her people. But with much patience and one-on-one time, Sara has come around to being my little girl. She now will wake me up with licks and kisses as soon as the alarm sounds.

Sara and Seng-ge are really unique cats, and have gotten me totally hooked on the Ragdoll breed. They are so affectionate, beautiful, and love to be around their humans. I highly recommend this breed to anyone who wants a loyal, lovable cat, who is also so beautiful and soft, you'll just want to keep getting more and more.
