I
adopted Bailey when he was about eight months old from a friend who
got him at an animal shelter. As for specific breed, I suspect Bailey
has some Himalayan Persian in him due to his lovable size (sixteen
pounds and holding) and his extremely long and fuzzy hair. He was
originally quite a timid little fellow, but with lots of love and
affection he has become a very friendly and outgoing guy. He greets
everyone at the door with a dramatic flop on the floor, hoping for a rub
of his ample belly. His two favourite things in life are his carpeted
pedestal in the front window where he sits, sleeps and scratches to his
heart's content, and (you guessed it) his food. He will jump on the bed
every morning and gently poke me in the eye with his paw until I feed
him. Bailey is greatly loved by everyone who meets him; including those
violently allergic to his fuzzy coat! My friend, who affectionately
calls Bailey "a sneeze factory", is convinced that Bailey's
hair has probably found a place in all four corners of the world. Once
you come into contact with Bailey, his "love" for you is
always closely enmeshed with your heart, and your clothes. There is
always a little bit of Bailey somewhere on my person at anytime of the
day, which either warms my heart or sends me into a panic looking for a
lint brush! Despite his fuzzy ways, he is truly an adorable guy and the
greatest companion.
