Hi
there! This is Penny, she is seven years old now... although she was
only three months when the picture was taken. She is a manx tabby cat,
and she lives with her family (including two other cats and a basset
hound) in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. We didn't set out to get a kitten
when we found Penny. One day at the local pet food store our daughter
happened to pull out a small cardboard box that was under some shelves
of canned cat food. Two beautiful kittens were sleeping inside, one with
a tail and one without! It turned out that they were brother and sister,
and somebody had dropped them off at the pet store hoping that they
could find good homes for them. The owner of the store asked us if we
would like to have one, and that it would cost us $9 to cover the cost
of food and litter that the kitten had used. It turned out to be the
best $9 we have ever spent! We call her our little bunny-cat, because
her tail is small and round, her back legs are long and powerful like a
rabbit, and she weighs less than eight pounds. She loves to play fetch with
her toy mouse, and every morning she reminds us to feed the goldfish by
running to the fish tank and waiting for a tiny taste of their food!
Penny is the sweetest and most loyal cat you could possibly imagine, and
we love her very much.
