Peepers (Occhio means eye in Italian) was three months old when
this picture was taken. He was an abandoned stray who had just been
brought to our local animal shelter when I saw him. He was
irresistible.
He is now a year old. He has trained me well since then. As I get
ready for work in the morning he runs ahead of me to the kitchen
knowing when I'll get my coffee. He then "talks" to me, gets
up on his hind legs and waives his right paw expecting his special
snack - frozen shrimp, slightly defrosted, that he takes from my
fingers. If he is still hungry, we go through the routine, again and
again...
