Mel
was obtained on a trip to Key West Florida from the Lower Keys
Friend of Animals. He was born under Mel Fisher's Museum (thus the name
Mel!) and at about two weeks he was captured and surgery was performed
to remove an infected eye. He was put into a foster home and was finally
put up for adoption the weekend my husband and I happened to vacation
there. Last month we again made a trip to Key West and brought back two of
his sisters, both approximately three months old. Their names are
Treasure and Atochia. Mel is very special to us since we lost our ten
year old manx to cancer last December (two days before xmas). Mel has
sort of taken his place and helped us get through the rough times. He
and his sisters are indeed treasures.
