This
is my cat Darwin (aka Buddha-Belly,Darwingo, and Fatso). When I
first saw him in the Adoption Center at PetSmart I fell in love with
him through the glass. When I went back to adopt him the volunteer
told me that he had been in various shelters for over a year. He had
been scheduled to be euthanized because no one wanted him, but
thankfully one of the shelter workers thought he was adoptable so they
sent him to my local shelter. When I brought him home he walked right
out of his carrier sniffed my dog, ignored my other cat, jumped up on
the couch rolled on his back and demanded that we rub his belly. He
has run the house ever since. He had been stressed so much at the
shelter that he had licked himself bald in areas, and he was really
underweight. Two years later he has a gorgeous coat and weighs a
whopping 16 pounds (down from 17.5 pounds, we had to put him on a
diet). I had no idea when I adopted Darwin how happy and crazy he
would make us. When we aren't home he stresses and pulls out CDs,
mail, magazines,and books and carries them around the house, but it's
a small price to pay for the happiness he has brought to our home.
