This
is Omar Shariff - an Egyptian Mau - the best Christmas present
ever!! Omar is the most intelligent cat I've ever met (and I've met
and been owned by quite a few). At the moment, we call him a
"puppin" which is a puppy/kitten combination. He loves to
play games - most especially "fetch." Just like a dog he
will drive us crazy bringing back the toy... he usually drops it into
the couch cushions and makes us dig for it! He also loves water - he
will sit by the washroom door and meow when he hears the shower on ..
then jumps in the tub, drinks as much as he can from near the drain,
and then sit for at least an hour watching the drips run down the
shower curtain. He will also start playing with his collar so that I
will hear the bell and know that he wants to go outside. I'm in love
and he knows it!!
His favorite toys are little fur cover mice - I say "Do you want
a mousie?" and he runs to the drawer in my desk where I keep the
new ones, and claws to get it open! He will bring it to me to retrieve
until I say "OK, that's enough!!" Unfortunately then Omar
hides the mousie somewhere -- so that next time, he gets a new one! I
believe that when I move, I will finally find a little pile of torn-up
mousies!!
