This
is Scooter AKA Scootie and Scoot Scoot. We adopted Scooter from
the North County Animal Shelter in San Diego when he was four months
old. We had lost a wonderful tuxedo kitty about a year before and it
just didn't seem right around the house without one, so when I saw
Scooter on the animal shelter website I went right away to get him. It
took a while for our other seven cats to accept him, but Scooter
didn't mind at all. He would just run up to them anyway and stare
while they hissed and spit. He couldn't figure out what their problem
was. Eventually they all gave up and accepted him as part of the
family since he just wouldn't go away. One of the funniest things
about Scooter is his voice. We almost named him Squeakers because he
doesn't meow, he squeaks. Sometimes he opens his mouth and nothing
comes out. Scooter's nickname is "The Stalker". When my
daughters bring their dogs over to visit he likes to hide behind tree
stumps and bushes or chairs and doors and wait until the dogs go by.
Then he runs after them trying to attack their tails. It was pretty
funny the day Josie, a golden retriever, jumped up on the back of the
couch and tried to hide because little Scooter was after her tail.
Scooter is such a sweet and wonderful kitty, and he always makes us
laugh at the funny things he does. Almost everyday my husband tells
me, "You picked a good one, Mom!" I certainly agree.
