About Us
Chelsea, the Cat of the Day
Name: Chelsea
Age: Deceased, Six years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Longhair
Home: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Chelsea came into my life as a tiny little kitten. I was told by his original owners that he was a girl, and he was so fluffy that it was hard to tell. So for the first three weeks that I owned him, I thought he was a girl! By the time I found out otherwise, he was responding to his name, so I decided to keep it.

Chelsea was a very loyal and loving companion. He was shy, but once he got to know someone he was very affectionate. He also was very affectionate with the other cats that he lived with. When Chelsea was five he developed health problems which were serious at first. Just when I thought I might lose him though he made a miraculous recovery. He put back on all the weight that he had lost (and then some) and regained his sunny disposition. Unfortunately his recovery was only temporary. He had developed cancer, and in August of 1999 I made the painful decision to end his suffering. I miss him a lot still, however I am so grateful for the six years that we had together, and I know that I will see him in over the rainbow bridge someday.
