We
bought Mable when she was eight weeks old. We had a lot of problems
with her at first, she was very aggressive, even being as tiny as she
was. We took her to the vet, who's opinion was that she had been
severely abused, and that she was reacting to being scared. For the
first six months we had her, Mable flinched and hissed when we tried
to pet her, she also seemed to reject any kind of affection from us,
we hadn't bonded with her at all. So... when we found an abandoned
kitten, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to give Mable a
companion. It worked! Within two months, Mable had become an active
happy cat. She and Lulu (our new kitty) are best friends, and they do
everything together. If one is eating, the other is. If one is
sleeping, the other is..... and so on. Now both kitties sleep with us,
and Mable seems to enjoy attention and affection from us. It just goes
to show that having a companion that you love can change your entire
outlook on life. It did for our kitty. Mable is a very picky cat. She
will eat french fries before she will even consider eating real meat.
She loves chasing her friend, as well as playing with crumpled up gum
wrappers, sleeping in the sunny windows, and having her chin rubbed.
