Hi!
My name is Moses, and I live at home with my loving mom, scary dad
(he doesn't really like cats but once and a while he'll cuddle me if
no one is looking!), obnoxious human step-sisters, cat foster-daughter
Mika and girlfriend Toffee, dog step-sister Daisy, rabbit step-sister
Penny, chicken step-sisters Jenny, Polly, Dolly, Molly, Flopsy, Tawny,
Dot, Oreo, Emily and Wiggles and chicken step-brothers Simon and
Rockefeller. Whew! Quite an extended family, huh? And lots of ladies,
except for dad and the two roosters, who aren't very
conversational... oh well :o). They all love me and I am very happy
growing into being an old, sophisticated gentleman with a family I
love.
You're probably wondering how I got my rather unusual name.
Well, it happened like this... on a stormy night in August of 1991
my mom and dad got a call from an elderly family member who had
discovered a stray cat mother with six little kittens making a racket
under the house. She wanted my dad to go get them out and take them to
the local animal shelter, so my parents-to-be drove to her house with
their two then-toddler daughters. My dad crawled under the house to
search for the kittens, but all he found was me, frightened, cold and
alone and mewing for my cat-mommy. Though he didn't like cats, he
didn't have the heart to leave me there since he wasn't sure if my cat
mommy was coming back for me, so he brought me out and my new family
took me home in a box lined with old towels. It was a Friday night, so
the animal shelter was closed until Monday and my new mommy had to
feed me kitten formula with an eyedropper and give me lots of love
since I was too young to be weaned. Well, Monday came around and my
new mommy was so attached to me that I'm still here, ten years later.
They decided to call me Moses since they found me as a little baby and
had to care for me like I was their own, and I love my human mommy so
much that I sleep next to her in bed every night and curl up on her
lap whenever she sits down, which can be a problem if she has lots to
do and doesn't have time to hold me. I am a very sweet cat and hope to
live with my awesome family for many years to come.
