Fiver-Roo
was a special kitten. She was a striped mixed breed who was
born north of Orlando, Florida. We got her when she was a week old.
Her eyes were still closed. The people who found her told us that she
was very sick and had not moved since they found her the night before.
They wanted to put her to sleep. My husband and I thought it was too
drastic a decision to make without a vet's assessment. We immediately
took her to the vet. Many visits later it was determined that she had
been severely abused, had a paralyzed colon and was retarded from
brain damage. If that wasn't enough she was a dwarf and would not
grow. The vet told us it was a matter of time. So, we gave her the
best time possible. I stayed with her 24 hours a day and nursed her
every need. She lived from October 30, 2000 until January 12, 2001
when we had to put her to sleep and prevent her from suffering. Her
life was filled with playing, petting and lots of sleeping on my chest
and neck. We loved her immensely and it was hard to let her go. It is
my hope that people give love to those pets who only have a short time
on earth. They deserve to know love and kindness before their time is
up. Fiver-Roo gave back as much love as we gave her. We feel grateful
to have known such a happy and loving kitten.
