Callie
got her name from the folks at Cat Guardians (a great cat
shelter in Lombard, Ill.) because she sings like Maria Callas, the
opera star. She makes a very pretty high-pitched twittering sound
instead of a meow. She also does not know how to purr, just squirms
and cuddles. She will curl up on your lap, to have her head and face
scratched, but if you pet any other part of her body, she is gone in a
flash. We think she is pretty cute.
She co-exists with our twelve-year old gray tabby, Zanie, who will never
forgive us for bringing this "wild thing" into her house,
and our ten-year-old black Cocker Spaniel, Ebony, who just stays out
of the way. Callie is one of those fast moving, aerobatic, high
energy, and super curious little cats that keeps things interesting.
We love her dearly.
