Kayla
and her sister Tamsyn have their own bedroom, two activity
centres, 20-30 toys and the latest addition is a cat flap. Kayla
and her sister Tamsyn came to live with us when we discovered them in
a veterinary hospital. They where both very shy and unlike the other
stray cats there, were not playing or being active at all. We fell in
love with them both the moment we saw them. We wanted two
females with long fur, although Tamsyn's fur is not as long as her
sisters being a short hair. We think they may have been due to be
destroyed as the card attached to their pen had the date they came
in and a date out which none of the other's kitten's had. We couldn't
leave them not knowing how uncertain their future was and so decided
that they were the two for us.
Kayla is a little madam, she likes to sleep in the top of her castle
(activity centre) her favorite toy's are a feathered tickle stick and
rattle mice. She mothers her sister who looks up to her and depends
on her greatly. Cleaning Tamsyn when she feels she is dirty or
calling for her if she can't find her. Tamsyn always obeys and comes
running to see what her sister wants. When Kayla runs she hops along
like a bunny rabbit with her little back legs. She has the sweetest
little meow which she uses first thing in the morning for her
breakfast, only partially opening her mouth.
Kayla has already established herself as the neighborhood bully,
although she is a kitten all the other cats in the area are afraid of
her, This pleases Tamsyn no end, being afraidy-cat she is never far
from her sister's side. Kayla loves to be in the bathroom and is
fascinated by the sink and the taps. She likes the cold tap to be
turned on very low so she can dip her head under it to have a drink.
Occasionally the water goes up her nose while drinking and makes her
sneeze, it then gets a wack of her paw for being so naughty. Although
they trust us now, they fear all other humans they have been in
contact with. Unfortunately I know nothing of their first six weeks
before they came to us. I hope they both grow to be very happy girls
and learn to trust humans more in their years to come.
