After
learning that our son had told one of our friends he wanted a
black kitten with green eyes, we learned that we were in luck just five
days later. That same friend told us that she had gone into the local
pet shop to purchase some dog food and presto, there she saw an
absolutely adorable little black kitten.
We went there the very next day and fell in love with Midnight. We
brought him home, and though he's only been with us for a week, he has
more than lived up to his name. Midnight has a tendency of waking us up
at or shortly after midnight to play. We will open our eyes and there he
is, about an inch away from our faces. Other times, all we'll see is a
black shadow as he rockets past our heads and jumps all about the bed.
He was special right from the start. Most kittens will hide for a day or
two when first brought into a new environment, but not our Midnight. We
showed him where his food and litter box was located, and he simply made
himself right at home. Within an hour, he had familiarized himself with
the layout of the apartment and even introduced himself to his new older
sister, Peanut. She is a ten-year-old Siamese and wasn't very impressed.
Although not bosom buddies yet, they have learned to share, Peanut eats
from Midnight's bowl, and vise versa. Midnight has also found a taste
for peas, carrots and pizza, He also insisted that we share our beef pot
pies with him for supper one night.
Aside from waking up every morning to twenty feet of shredded toilet
paper on the bathroom floor, we are certain that we are in store for
many years of love and happiness.
