Kit-Kat
showed up on my doorstep on February 2nd of this year. I
live in the country and it is not uncommon to see a stray cat in
my yard. However, Kit-Kat was different. She ran right over to
my porch and looked up at me with her big green eyes and meowed.
She immediately stole my heart.
I have always been a dog owner but never had a cat although I
always loved them. Kit-Kat now resides with my family and our
Yellow Labrador Casey who was Dog of the Day on July 17, 1998.
It took about three weeks for Casey to accept the fact that a cat was
living in "her" house. Although Casey and Kit-Kat seem to be
getting along pretty good now, Casey still finds it necessary to
chase the cat up the steps several times a day.
Kit-Kat is very nocturnal. At night when the house gets quiet
she decides it is time to play. She will run circles in the
hallway, jump up onto our beds, and meow very loudly if she feels
we should not be sleeping. Usually a scratch on the ear and/or
chin will make her happy though.
